What to expect:
Cardinal Aviation provides quality aircraft mechanical services at reasonable rates.
Annual or 100 hour inspections:
Will be performed in accordance with FAR 43 Appendix D.
We will also check registration renewal date, Altimeter Static and ELT due dates.
Annual/100 hour include inspection, general servicing (spark plug cleaning, etc.), Airworthiness Directive research, general engine clean, wash and vacuum.
Shop Rate:
Our shop labor rate is $70.00 per hour.
Parts:
Aircraft parts can be expensive. We are happy to research part number and provide it to you so you can order/purchase parts directly or provide us a credit card number so we will order them for you. Alternatively, for owner's convenience, Cardinal Aviation can order parts and obtain parts for owner at a modest cost markup.
Owner Assisted work:
Owner-assisted work is a great way for an owner to learn and understand more about his/her aircraft. We are happy to speak with you about a discount off the flat rate charge for owner assisted work which will necessarily depend in each case on the extent of the owner assistance and the owner's qualifications.
Notification:
We will notify you of issues we find by the means you like best: telephone, text message, email or in person. We can send pictures of what we are finding along the way.
Payment:
Ordinarily, payment will be due on completion of work. However, an advance payment may be required if projected repairs are extensive and/or expensive parts are required to be procured by Cardinal.
Hoses:
For your safety we recommend changing hoses every 7-10 years.
Aircraft Delivery:
We can ferry your aircraft if we both feel comfortable with it, normal shop rates plus mileage apply. Customer is responsible for insurance coverage.
A Little History:
Mark Howell holds an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) certificate with Inspection Authorization privileges. He has been involved in aviation since he was 15 years old. He obtained his A&P in 1980 after completing an apprenticeship program at JAARS (Jungle Aviation and Radio Service) in Waxhaw, North Carolina. He obtained his Inspection Authorization in 1984. He is a commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings and has been flying since 1976. He has worked all of his life in aviation.
Donna Howell is a North Carolina native and has a degree in accounting. She was an Administrative Assistant with Lance for 20 years.
